Climate activists protest, sit-in, occupying energy giant’s Waltham office

Protesters entered their second day of occupying energy giant Enbridge’s Waltham office Wednesday, demanding the company halt construction on the Line 3 oil pipeline in Minnesota and cease operations at a natural gas compressor station in Weymouth.

Organizers said dozens of climate activists have participated in the sit-in since they arrived at Enbridge’s northeast regional headquarters around noon on Tuesday, accusing the company operating natural gas and oil pipelines across the country of “crimes against humanity.” …

The protesters, affiliated with the Giniw Collective from Minnesota and Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station, called for an immediate end to the construction of the Line 3 pipeline that has drawn outrage from climate groups and Native American leaders. …
