How to Resist the Line 3 Pipeline
Thursday, Feb 4, 7- 8:30pm via zoom
At our next Node meeting, we will get an update on the fight to stop the Line 3 pipeline and what role we can play.
Like the Keystone XL pipeline (whose federal permit was recently cancelled by President Biden), the proposed Line 3 (not yet cancelled) would bring convey huge quantities of crude oil derived from dirty tar sands. It threatens to cut across sacred lakes, untouched wetlands, and treaty-protected wild rice beds, and would release 193 million tons of greenhouse gas every year.
Zoom in to learn what’s going on and how we can help – including by taking a few actions during our meeting!
Can’t make the meeting? Call Chase Bank and urge them to defund Line Three. For more, see this guide for other ways to keep updated and get involved.
At the meeting, we’ll also share updates from the ongoing legislative action on climate bills and transparency rules.
As usual, we’ll also welcome announcements / requests for help on your own climate-related projects.
