Node Meeting Thurs 8/6 Theme: Mail-in Ballots arriving soon – let’s mobilize!
Mail-in Ballots arriving soon – let’s mobilize!
Thursday, Aug 6, 6:45pm for newcomers, 7pm meeting begins.
We’ll begin with a meeting of the MetroWest Chapter of 350Mass Action, following up on local candidates seeking our endorsement, and needing our help, such as Sen. Ed Markey, State Sen. Becca Rausch, Rep. Carmine Gentile, and possibly others.  We’ll be making plans for phone banking and postcard-writing initiatives to support solid climate champions! (Note: Members of our 350 Mass Action Chapter may vote on whom we endorse; become a member with a donation here.)Then we’ll open a meeting of the MetroWest Node of 350Mass. We’ll check in on last week’s legislative actions; we moved the needle some in the House, and the “Roadmap Bill” will now be worked on in a joint conference of House and Senate, a opportunity for us to move it even more in a good direction!

Help Get Out The Vote THIS WEEK
Sen. Markey’s team is hosting virtual Get Out the Vote phone banks this Tuesday through Thursday at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm each day. Voters are starting to receive their ballot to vote by mail, and it could be the last chance to talk with supporters and undecided voters before they begin casting their ballots. If you want to send the co-author of the Green New Deal back to the Senate, now is the time to lend your support. Please sign up for as many shifts Tuesday through Thursday as you can attend. Want to multiply your impact? Invite a friend or family member to join you, and share this email with everyone in your network.

Legislative Actions

Time critical actions:

Municipal Sustainability Checklist

We have created a municipal “sustainability checklist” that can help towns compare what they are doing with other towns, as well as get ideas and encourage collaboration. For residents, the checklist helps understand what towns are doing and not doing, as well as set priorities for local advocacy. For organizers, the checklist is an excellent tool to organize local groups around, and to build networks of people who care about sustainability.
